The Corporate Stupidity Files: Pepsi uses racism and sexy models to sell junk food... that causes obesity

By Victor Hernandez

So now Pepsi is peddling junk food in Mexico with bikini clad models. Which is another very evident case of corporate stupidity because, number one, sex doesn't sell (I'll get into that later on), and number two, it's incredibly offensive to the intelligence of people to be shown a bikini clad model pretending to eat junk food instead of an obese woman (or an obese man), the way people actually end up looking like when they eat junk food.

I say this because Mexican junk food brand Sabritas, which is owned by Frito-Lay, in turn owned by Pepsi, has been using ads like this one all over Mexico for YEARS, using, both, male and female models:

The Corporate Stupidity Files: Airport urinal with... well, take a look

By Victor Hernandez

Don't get me wrong. As a Mexican I love Mexico. And I really like Huatulco, one Mexico's most beautiful beaches. But I have to say that the incident I'm going to talk about next at the Huatulco International Airport in the state of Oaxaca definitely qualifies as corporate stupidity.

All airports in Mexico are operated by private corporations. This one in particular, the one in Huatulco, is operated by Grupo Aeropuertario del Pacífico. I'm letting you know this so you can understand why I'm saying this is just corporate stupidity.

The Corporate Stupidity Files: Jumex, fake art, galleries, and auction houses

By Victor Hernandez

For this edition of the Corporate Stupidity files I'm going to focus on art.

You see, some of the richest corporations in Mexico, Grupo Carso and Jumex, both have their own private museums slash art galleries right next to each other in Polanco, one of the richest neighborhoods in Mexico City.

And they both pretend to display "art" at their respective galleries.

The Corporate Stupidity Files: Pornographic Rigby at McDonald's

By Victor Hernandez

If I can help it I avoid fast food places. Particularly McDonald's. This time, however, McDonald's corporate stupidity provided me with some material that is as disturbing as it is entertaining. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a cheap plastic toy that Mexico City's McDonald's Happy Meal sells featuring Rigby, the character from Cartoon Network's Regular Show:

A little under a dollar for that cheap plastic toy. Seriously. They list the charge for the toy in the ticket. What does the toy do? Well, this is a photo of the bag the toy came in. See for yourselves:
